Conference Room Schedules
Use of the Physics Department conference rooms 2121, 2165, 2205 and 2260 NPB is by reservation only. Use of the Physics Lobby for group events also requires a reservation. To make a reservation, visit the front office 2201 NPB or email the calendar administrator (shown below). Every reservation will require the name of a contact person who is a member of the department. The contact person is responsible for leaving the room in tidy condition, especially when the kitchen area in 2205 NPB is used.
Conference rooms may be reserved on a recurring basis (such as weekly) for up to one semester at a time (spring, fall, or summer C). However, recurring events that are not directly connected to department business (research, training, or administration) cannot be scheduled during business hours, 830 am – 500 pm. UF classes must be held in designated classroom space and may not be scheduled in the Physics conference rooms. Classroom space is controlled by the Registrar’s Office.
Those who wish to reserve Physics conference rooms or classrooms should be aware that a university event permit may be needed for some types of events – if the event will bring a large attendance, or attract significant publicity or interest from the community, the press, etc. Event organizers should review the university’s event permit policy at https://policy.ufl.edu/policy/use-of-university-space/ – particularly section 4.1a – to see if a permit will be needed. The event organizer, not the department administration, is responsible for obtaining any necessary permits.
